ABSTRACT This study has sought to investigate the Jungian psychological correlates of an individual's choice of different interpersonal conflict-handling modes: competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding, and accommodating.
Bad Decisions Do Not Equal “Bad Person” We often explain people’s decisions to engage in bad behaviour in terms of intrapersonal (“within me”) factors such as personality, mental health and emotional stability.
Yet this simplistic explanation ignores the extent to which factors in the inter-personal, intra-group and organizational realms can also de-stabilize a person’s decision-making capacity.
Inattention, impulsiveness, hyperactivity, disorganization, and other difficulties can lead to unfinished assignments, careless errors, and behavior which is disruptive to one's self and others.
Through the implementation of relatively simple and straightforward accommodations to the classroom environment or teaching style, teachers can adapt to the strengths and weaknesses of students with ADD.
Small changes in how a teacher approaches the student with ADD or in what the teacher expects can turn a losing year into a winning one for the child.
Examples of accommodations which teachers can make to adapt to the needs of students with ADD are grouped below according to areas of difficulty. No matter what the the behaviour, it is ultimately goal-oriented and planned. This becomes obvious when we consider that many people who suffer from personality disorders, mental health issues and emotional instability don’t engage in problematic behaviour in the workplace. And, whey they do, they tend to do so only in specific contexts – that is, in particular situations at particular times or with particular individuals present.Accommodating is the adjective form of the verb accommodate, and it’s used to describe those who are cheerfully willing to make small adjustments to help you out.The waiter who is happy to serve the dressing on the side, give you extra cheese on the burger, and swap French fries for mashed potatoes, all because that's how you want it? But in such cases, the action is not taken to punish a blamed employed, but rather to give priority to the employee’s other responsibilities, including the creation of a safe, healthy and respectful workplace for other employees, and the creation of a productive and effective business operation.
